The American rock musician Bruce Springsteen gives a concert in East Berlin in summer of 1988. It turns out to be the biggest rock concert in the history of the GDR. 150,000 young people travel from all over the country to experience what they only know from records or from West TV. His fans from the East also refer to him as The Boss. It is obvious that the young people of the GDR are striving for openness and that they are tired of the isolation.
