The Berliner Philharmonie turns 50. It is one of the most important concert halls in Berlin, is the home to the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and it is a Berlin landmark in the district Tiergarten. The music is absolutely in the focus here.

Architect Hans Scharoun arranged the concert hall in a way that the audience and the artists do not feel separated from one another. He positioned the stage in the very middle of the concert hall. The audience sits around the stage. The construction of the Berliner Philharmonie lasts for three years and is finally completed in 1963.
